This month, United Way of Miami-Dade will open its second Center for Financial Stability, with a new location in Florida City. Starting on Oct. 15, the Center’s south site will work with local partner agencies to help working individuals and families pave a path to financial stability by providing a full range of services and support – from financial coaching, budgeting and credit counseling to free tax preparation, employment assistance and more. The south site, like the North one, will be operated by Branches, a non-profit agency with 40 years of experience providing long-term, holistic financial stability services to individuals and families.
“We strive to strengthen families in Miami-Dade, and opening a location in Florida City allows us to cater to the needs of the South Dade community,” Harve Mogul, president and CEO, United Way of Miami-Dade, said. “We are proud to once again partner with Branches and are looking forward to serving thousands of families in the area.”
In 2009, the United Way Center for Financial Stability North location opened its doors to help hardworking Miami-Dade residents find their way through one of the most uncertain economic times in our history. From the start, United Way partnered with Branches to house and operate the Center, and together collaborated with another 14 agencies to offer comprehensive financial services and support, including personalized financial coaching and/or free tax preparation, employment assistance, credit counseling and debt management, benefits enrollment and services to help with home ownership and building assets.
The new office is located at 129 SW 5th Avenue in Florida City. To make an appointment with a financial coach in the Florida City location, please call (305) 688-3551.
